Feeding & Rehoming
Targeted feeding program: available to those that have sterilized and truly cannot afford to provide appropriate food for their dogs/cats.
Rehoming: community members may choose to surrender their pets if they feel they cannot provide adequate care. While initially rehoming all pets that were unwanted we now try to encourage people to take responsibility for the pets they have, to not simply forgo the task they initially chose when owning a pet. We only rehome unwanted puppies under the condition that remaining adult dogs are spayed or neutered. We want the community to be held accountable for their conscious decisions and therefore encourage them to show considerable effort and thought before choosing to relinquish ownership. Sustainability is fundamental to our work- by constantly rehoming pets the community does not learn the value of our services nor to consider the consequences of their actions. We initially discovered that when removing pets, they were quickly forgotten and replaced. This is a detrimental cycle we do not want to support, therefore, rehoming of animals is carefully considered case by case.
