Rescue is not just a verb, it’s a promise.
This is the story of a girl and her dog, a story born out of the 2020 lockdown where the deplorable conditions some had to suffer, caught our attention. Lexi- a little west coast princess, she was born a Paternoster pavement special and has since truly landed her bum in the butter. I’m Laura, founder and Lexi’s biggest fan. I believe our story is a very relatable one, my dog inspired me to ensure no dog or cat has to live a life devoid of love, shelter, food or care. I realize that Lexi is ‘just a dog’ but to me she means so much more than that.

Our Philosophy
Our philosophy is to transform the value given to animals- we hope to educate and demonstrate that these sentient beings are deserving of shelter, food, water and care. We hope to show the community that it is not in their interest to breed more pets than they can afford to keep. Instead, to care for their existing pets by sterilizing them- therefore protecting them from unwanted pregnancies, roaming, aggressive behavior, disease, dog fighting and theft. We hope to put an end to simply replacing dogs or cats once they fall ill and perish- every life matters and should be protected. Our intention is to work with the community and not for it, we want community members to get involved and take an active role in creating opportunities and help for their pets. As Paternoster is such a small town, Lexi Gives Back has gained the attention of many. We want LGB to be a project people are proud to be a part of in the same way we encourage them to take pride in their pet and its welfare. Our role is never to accuse or issue judgement- our role is to be of service to those that need it most.
